Dryer Vent Cleaning

Faster drying. Lower fire risk.

Dynamic Remediation cleans dryer vents for homes across Northern and Northeast Colorado. We clear lint from the full vent run, from the back of the dryer to the outside vent hood, so your dryer works the way it should and lint doesn't become a fire hazard. Keep it clean year-round with our twice-a-year Dryer Vent Cleaning Plan.

Why dryer vents matter

Lint is fuel. When it builds up in the vent, hot air can't escape and the dryer runs hotter and longer.

What a safe vent looks like

Dryer vent code basics

Most Colorado jurisdictions build to the International Residential Code. Section M1502 sets these rules for dryer exhaust ducts. Your local building department adopts a specific edition, and the dryer maker's installation instructions can change some limits.

RequirementWhat the code says
Where it ventsOutdoors, through a backdraft damper. Never into an attic, crawlspace or garage.
Duct materialRigid metal with a smooth interior, at least 0.016 inch thick (No. 28 gauge).
Duct sizeAt least 4 inches in diameter.
Maximum length35 feet, reduced by 5 feet for each 90° bend and 2.5 feet for each 45° bend.
Transition ductOne listed length (UL 2158A), no longer than 8 feet, visible and not concealed in walls or ceilings.
Vent hoodNo screens at the outside opening, because lint collects on them and blocks airflow.

Colorado homes

Why winter is dryer season

National data shows dryer fires peak in January. Colorado households run dryers hard through cold months, when nobody is hanging laundry outside.

Snow drifts and ice can also block the outside vent hood or freeze the flap shut, so check that it's clear after storms.

DIY or pro?

What you can do yourself

Clean the lint filter before or after every load, and keep the area around the dryer clear.

When to call a pro

Store-bought brush kits only reach part of a long run and can push clogs deeper. Long runs, multiple bends, second-story laundry rooms and roof vents are worth a professional cleaning.
