Why sewage cleanup is different
Sewage is Category 3, or black water, under the IICRC S500 standard. It carries bacteria and other contaminants, so porous materials it touches, like carpet and pad, are removed rather than dried in place.
Basement floor drains are often the lowest point in a Colorado home, which is why sewer backups so often show up there first.
A plumber clears the line. We handle what's left behind: removal, cleaning, disinfection and drying. Read more about water categories and drying.

Sewer backup FAQs
Is sewer backup dangerous?
Yes. Sewage carries bacteria and other contaminants. Keep children and pets away and avoid touching it without protective gear.
Should I call a plumber or a restoration company?
Both, if the line is still blocked. The plumber clears the line, and Dynamic Remediation handles cleanup, disinfection and drying.
Does insurance cover sewer backup?
Many standard homeowners policies exclude sewer backup unless you added a sewer or water backup endorsement. Check with your insurance carrier.
Can carpet be saved after a sewer backup?
Carpet and pad touched by sewage are usually removed, because porous materials can't be reliably disinfected.
